“At Tokmanni Group, it is important to offer our employees opportunities to develop in their work and to maintain a good work-life balance.”

It is also essential for us that our employees are content and committed to their work and that teams have good team spirit.

Furthermore, we want to ensure that the people manufacturing our products work in appropriate conditions. We aim to build long-term relationships with suppliers of our private labels particularly in high-risk countries. In addition, we use third party audits and perform own social compliance audits to ensure that we know in which conditions our products are manufactured.

Sirpa Huuskonen, Chief People, Culture and Sustainability Officer, Tokmanni Group

We ♥ charity work

Our Tokmanni variety discount retail chain has supported, for example, the MIELI Finnish Mental Health Association, a mental health NGO, since 2018, and the John Nurminen Foundation, a praised rescuer of the Baltic Sea, since 2020. In addition, together with Unilever Finland, we have helped Hurstinapu, a charity organisation led by the Hursti family and known to the entire Finnish people, to help those in need since 2011. In Sweden, our Dollarstore store chain has built a long-term cooperation with the Stockholm City Mission.

Our support to MIELI Finnish Mental Health Association has been EUR 32.000 and to the John Nurminen Foundation EUR 178.000. In addition, the sales of MIELI’s Mielinauha mental health ribbons have generated almost EUR 240.000 for Finnish mental health work and crisis assistance. In addition, together with Unilever Finland, we have donated various everyday necessities worth EUR 820.000 to Hurstinapu charity.
