Tokmanni variety discount retail chain has decided to construct a new commercial building in Ivalo in Inari and open a Tokmanni store with a diverse product selection. Tokmanni’s goal is to open the new Ivalo store during next year. This means that the Tokmanni store that opened about four years ago in Kittilä will hand over its title of the northernmost Tokmanni store to Ivalo.
The new commercial building, approximately 3,600 square metres in size, will be located in the southern part of Ivalo on Neitamontie, in the immediate vicinity of the E75 road (European route E75). The size of the store will correspond, for example, to the Tokmanni store opened last year in Sodankylä, which is about 160 kilometers from Ivalo.
“We are pleased to announce our goal of opening a versatile Tokmanni store in the growing and lively municipality of Inari. The new Tokmanni store will be located in a prominent and easily accessible location from the village of Inari, from Ivalo and from the direction of Saariselkä outdoor resort,” Harri Koponen says. Tokmanni’s current goal is to celebrate the opening of its new store in Ivalo during 2026. The schedule will be finalised as the construction project progresses.
Inari, which has been in the Finnish news in recent years as a municipality with a growing population, had 7,336 residents at the at the end of 2024. Thanks to its spacious store, Tokmanni can offer the residents and other people who use the municipality’s services a very diverse selection of products related to beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home improvement, and various seasons. The store will also be selling non-perishable foods and beverages. In addition, a garden department with a comprehensive product selection will be built in connection with the Tokmanni store.
Tokmanni Group’s network of stores continues to grow and renew
Tokmanni Group continues to develop its store network in Sweden, Denmark and Finland this year as well.
In Finland, Tokmanni variety discount retail chain will open new stores in Kimitoön (Kemiönsaari) and Jokela in Tuusula, in addition to the upcoming Ivalo store. Tokmanni will also relocate to new store premises in Nilsiä in Kuopio. In Kimitoön, the opening of the new Tokmanni store will be celebrated around the end of August and beginning of September. In Jokela in Tuusula and in Nilsiä in Kuopio, the store opening celebrations are planned to take place in November this year.
In Sweden, Dollarstore, a variety discount retail chain owned by Tokmanni Group, will both open several new stores and relocate some of its current stores to new store premises this year. In addition, Big Dollar, a variety discount retail chain operated by Dollarstore, will open several news stores around Denmark this year.
