Tokmanni variety discount retail chain has entered into a long-term lease agreement for a commercial premises in a new commercial building to be constructed in the city of Ähtäri, Finland. Tokmanni’s goal is to open the Tokmanni store in Ähtäri next spring.
Tokmanni will lease approximately 3,000 square metres of store space in a new commercial building that will be constructed in an excellent traffic location near main road 68 (Virtaintie) at Niittyläntie 2, 63700 Ähtäri.
The new Ähtäri store will be offering a diverse selection of non-groceries and groceries such as products related to beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home improvement, and various seasons. The store will also be selling non-perishable foods and beverages. In addition, a garden department with a comprehensive product selection will be built in connection with the Tokmanni store.
Tokmanni’s goal is to celebrate the opening of the new store in the city in the spring of 2026. The schedule will become more precise as the construction work of the new commercial building progresses.

Tokmanni Group’s network of stores continues to grow and renew
Tokmanni Group continues to develop its store network in Finland, Sweden and Denmark this year as well.
In Finland, Tokmanni variety discount retail chain will open new stores in Ivalo in Inari, in Kimitoön (Kemiönsaari) and in Jokela in Tuusula, in addition to the upcoming Ähtäri store. Tokmanni will also relocate to new store premises in Nilsiä in Kuopio. In Ivalo, Tokmanni's goal is to open the new store during next year. In Kimitoön, the opening of the new Tokmanni store will be celebrated around the end of August and beginning of September this year. In Jokela in Tuusula and in Nilsiä in Kuopio, the store opening celebrations are planned to take place in November this year.
In Sweden, Dollarstore, a variety discount retail chain owned by Tokmanni Group, will both open several new stores and relocate some of its current stores to new store premises this year. In addition, Big Dollar, a variety discount retail chain operated by Dollarstore, will open several news stores around Denmark this year.
