Tokmanni to open its expanded and refurbished store in Nokia – Opening will be celebrated with generous offers and surprise buckets

Tokmanni, a variety discount retail chain, will open its expanded and completely refurbished store in Nokia on Thursday 12 March 2026 at 8:00 a.m. The store opening, which will be celebrated together with customers, will feature not only plenty of opening offers, but also surprise buckets filled with product gifts. As a result of the expansion and refurbishment, the Nokia store’s product assortment has grown, and the shopping experience has improved significantly.

The Tokmanni store in Nokia has grown by approximately 1,050 square metres by expanding into a vacant retail space in the commercial building. Going forward, the Tokmanni store — now about 4,050 square metres in size — will offer an even wider range of products, such as dry foods and beverages, as well as various products related to renovation and home improvement. The garden department connected to the Tokmanni store has also been expanded with a fenced area of about 400 square metres. Thanks to this expansion, the garden department has approximately 1,000 square metres of space and offers significantly more seasonal products than before.

In total, the Nokia store’s selections have grown by thousands of products. Already in the past, the Nokia store has offered a comprehensive selection of products related to, for example, interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning, home improvement, various seasons, and beauty, health and wellbeing. In addition, the store continues to have a shop-in-shop department of the Click Shoes shoe chain, which is part of Tokmanni Group.

As in other Tokmanni stores, a wide range of SPAR food products that can be stored at room temperature, such as sweets, biscuits, snacks, quick oat flakes, rice, pasta, pasta and salsa sauces, instant coffee, mustard, dried fruits, canned corn and tuna, blossom honey, cold-pressed sunflower oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, extra virgin olive oil, and cat food, will continue to be available in Nokia. In addition to dry food products, other SPAR groceries, such as hand soap and tape diapers, are also available for sale.

The expanded and refurbished Nokia store features Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which emphasises convenient and pleasant shopping experience. To enhance the customer experience, Tokmanni has renewed, for example, the shelf layout and display of products and product categories, customer signage, the information point, and the reverse vending machine.

Expanding the product selections and improving the shopping experience have been widely requested by customers in Nokia.

“Our customers have wished for even broader product selections, especially in home improvement and food categories. Thanks to the additional space gained through the expansion, we have been able to respond to these wishes. In addition, our product selections have grown in other categories as well,” says Harri Koponen. He works as the Vice President, Store Network and Concept for Tokmanni Group’s operations in Finland.

Customer service at the Nokia store is provided by a team of around 15 retail professionals led by Store Manager Helena Hyrkkönen. The store serves its customers on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm, and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. The store, which is located at the address Nuijamiestentie 9, 37120 Nokia, has been open throughout the refurbishment work.

Convenient services and smart energy choices – including solar energy, for example

In addition to offering a comprehensive and affordable product assortment and a pleasant shopping experience, Tokmanni focuses on services that make customers’ daily lives easier and on smart energy choices.

At Tokmanni stores, customers can make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and conveniently withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.

Tokmanni purchases fossil-free electricity for its Tokmanni branded stores and uses energy-efficient LED lightning. In addition, the Tokmanni store in Nokia has had a solar power plant since 2021. The emission-free electricity produced with the help of solar panels installed on the roof of the store building can cover an average of around 15 to 20 percent of the annual electricity need of the store. In total, there are already more than 70 solar power plants in Tokmanni’s own use around Finland.

Opening offers and surprise buckets with product gifts in true Tokmanni style

Tokmanni celebrates the opening of its expanded and refurbished store with generous opening offers. In Nokia, the opening offers will be valid from Thursday 12 March to Sunday 15 March 2026. In addition, 500 famous Tokmanni’s surprise buckets filled with product gifts will be handed out for free to the first customers on the day of the opening on Thursday 12 March. Two of the surprise buckets will also contain a EUR 50 gift card.

At the opening of the expanded store in Nokia on Thursday morning, Tokmanni will be represented by, for example, Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept, and Markus Lähteenmäki, Regional Manager, alongside store employees.

Tokmanni Group is renewing its store network this year as well

Tokmanni Group owns the Tokmanni variety discount retail chain as well as the Click Shoes and Shoe House shoe store chains in Finland, the Dollarstore variety discount retail chain in Sweden, and the Big Dollar variety discount retail chain in Denmark. Three of the Tokmanni stores serve their customers as Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities. In Finland, the Group also serves its customers through its Tokmanni and Click Shoes online stores.

Tokmanni Group has announced that it will open several new stores in Finland, Sweden and Denmark this year. Of the new stores already announced, three will be Tokmanni stores. In Ähtäri and Ivalo in Inari, the store opening celebrations are expected to take place during early summer. In Kivistö in Vantaa, the new Tokmanni store is scheduled to be opened towards the end of this year.

The Group is also renewing the store network of its shoe store chains in Finland. At the end of January, the Group closed its Shoe House store in the Jumbo shopping centre in Vantaa and its Click Shoes store located next to the Central Square in Tampere. In addition, in early February, the Click Shoes store in the Mylly shopping centre in Raisio relocated to new, more compact retail premises. Next, Click Shoes will relocate in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre in Jyväskylä. The new Click Shoes store, which will be opened in late March, will be larger than its predecessor and have approximately 600 square metres of space.
