sustainability

We at Tokmanni Group do everything we can to ensure integrity and sustainability of our business operations now and in the future.

By focusing on sustainability and good quality products, we aim to offer seamless shopping experiences, optimise operations, and drive sustainable growth. Through our Private Label products, we can ensure long-term supplier relationships, good quality assurance, and better transparency.

Each step of the value chain impacts people, environment, and the local businesses and communities. Sustainable sourcing means that we respect fundamental rights of workers and that we support sustainable practices in the entire value chain. Risk raw material commitments and certification programs are important tools to ensure these aspects.

Together with our employees, suppliers and customers, we are building a future where affordability and sustainability go hand in hand.”

We warmly welcome you to familiarise yourself with our sustainability work.

Our sustainability goals

Tokmanni Group has four sustainability focus areas, each with specific targets. Through these targets, we strive to make responsible choices accessible to everyone.

  1. Business Integrity: Targeting to be a trusted partner through efficient regulation management and principles of good governance.
  2. People: Targeting to be the best place to work in retail by focusing especially on wellbeing and safety.
  3. Products and Sourcing: Targeting traceable and sustainability and quality assured products by focusing on supplier commitments and factory assessments and controls.
  4. Climate: Targeting alignment with the Paris Agreement through emission reductions, supplier engagements and recycling rate.

Tokmanni Group CEO Mika Rautiainen:
Sustainability is one of the cornerstones in our strategy. As a variety discount retailer, we combine a wide product range with responsible sourcing and consistently good product quality. We believe that affordable can be sustainable, and we are happy to tell you more about the main themes of Tokmanni Group’s sustainability agenda on this website.”

A pragmatic approach brings our value proposition to life: Affordable can be sustainable

Tokmanni Group is known for a wide range of products and affordable prices. In combination with this, we want to ensure that our Private Label products are of high quality and produced responsibly. For us, responsible sourcing means safeguarding good working conditions, respecting human rights and managing environmental impacts in supply chains. By emphasising Private Label products and long- term partnerships, we can better monitor and improve supply chain sustainability.

We remain committed to embedding sustainability across our value chain. Our goal is simple: to make responsible choices accessible to everyone. Together with our employees, suppliers and customers, we will continue building a future where affordability and sustainability go hand in hand.

Once again of the world’s best companies in sustainable growth

In late 2025, Tokmanni was once again determined as one of the world’s 500 best companies in sustainable growth. In this ranking, Tokmanni was the only Finnish company in the retail sector and one of only four Finnish companies – and of these companies, in 2nd place!

The well-known international TIME magazine’s and Statista’s World’s Best Companies in Sustainable Growth 2026 list emphasizes growth, environmental responsibility, and public reporting and monitoring.

But why is Tokmanni among the world’s 500 best companies in sustainable growth?

We were on the list because we have been reporting on our sustainability work for a long time and have worked consistently to achieve concrete emission reductions in line with our SBTi targets, for example.

For example, in 2024, we achieved the Scope 1 and 2 SBTi emission reduction target set in 2020 for our Tokmanni segment. We achieved this thanks to a variety of energy efficiency actions, such as purchasing carbon-free energy, increasing our network of solar power plants, and renewing and optimizing our building automation.

Tokmanni Group consists of Tokmanni and Dollarstore segments. Tokmanni segment operates in Finland and consists of Tokmanni stores,  Click Shoes stores and Shoe House stores, as well as Tokmanni and Click Shoes online stores.
